Step 1: Install WireGuard

WireGuard is a widely used and secure VPN application.

In this guide, we'll show you Step by step, how to prepare for iOS, Android and Windows with a .conf-file or a QR code connect.

What You'll Need

• A WireGuard configuration file (.conf) or a QR code. You will receive these login credentials by email after your purchase.
• The official WireGuard app for your device
• An active Internet connection

1. iOS – iPhone and iPad

1. Open the App Store and search for "WireGuard."
2. Install and open the official WireGuard app.
3. Tap the + icon in the upper-right corner.
4. Select one of the following options:
   • Create from QR Code → Point the camera at the QR code provided.
   • Create from a file or archive → Select the file you downloaded .conf-file.
5. Give the tunnel a name, such as “Talos Family, ” and save it.
6. Toggle the switch next to the tunnel to establish the connection.

Tip: You can add multiple tunnels and easily switch between them.

2. Android

1. Open the Google Play Store and install the official WireGuard app.
2. Open the app and tap the + icon, which is usually in the lower-right corner.
3. Select:
   • Scan the QR code → Scan the QR code provided.
   • Import from a file or archive → Select your .conf-file.
4. Enter a name for the tunnel and tap Create.
5. Toggle the switch to establish the VPN connection.

Note: Android may prompt you to allow the VPN connection. Please confirm this request.

3. Windows

1. Open the official WireGuard website:
   Download WireGuard for Windows
2. Download and install the WireGuard client for Windows.
3. Open WireGuard.
4. Click " Import Tunnel from File" in the lower-left corner.
5. Select your .conf-configuration file.
6. Click " Activate" to establish the connection.

To quickly connect or disconnect, you can also right-click the WireGuard icon in the Windows system tray.

Tips for Getting the Most Out of It

• Whenever possible, download your configuration file or QR code only over a secure connection.
• Use descriptive tunnel names, such as "Talos Family Home" or "Talos Family Mobile."
• If possible, enable a kill switch to ensure that no data is transmitted unprotected if the connection is lost.
• On smartphones, setting it up using a QR code is usually the fastest way.
