2. What personal data we process

We process personal data only to the extent necessary for the use and provision of our services, for example, as part of a free trial period or a paid subscription.

This may include, in particular, the following data:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Technical connection data, such as the IP address during the setup or use of the service

3. Payment Processing via Stripe

Payments are processed through the payment service provider Stripe.

Talos Family does not process your full credit card or bank information itself. Sensitive payment information is processed directly by Stripe.

We only receive the information necessary to manage your order or subscription, such as payment status and, if applicable, transaction or customer numbers.

Stripe's privacy policy also applies to the processing of payment data.

4. Security of Our VPN Service

Talos Family uses WireGuard, a modern VPN protocol for the encrypted transmission of network data.

The connection between your device and the Talos VPN endpoint is protected by an encrypted WireGuard tunnel.

Here's how the connection works

Your devices, for example:

  • Smartphone
  • Tablet
  • Laptop
  • Computer

connect to the Talos Virtual Router via WireGuard.

The Virtual Router can apply DNS-based filtering rules according to the selected configuration and, for example, block unwanted or known dangerous Internet destinations.

Protection of Data Traffic

The WireGuard tunnel protects the data traffic between your device and the Talos VPN endpoint from unauthorized interception during transmission.

Websites that use HTTPS also encrypt the content transmitted between your browser or app and the respective web service.

Talos Family does not decrypt HTTPS content to read website content, messages, or search queries.

Separation Between Devices

Our network configuration can prevent direct connections between connected VPN devices using firewall rules.

This prevents different devices within the secure VPN environment from communicating directly with one another without the appropriate authorization.

Internet traffic is routed through the secure infrastructure in accordance with the specified network configuration.

5. WireGuard configuration files and one-time download links

WireGuard configuration files can be provided via one-time-use download links.

Once the download is complete, the file can be removed from the download system in accordance with our distribution process.

We recommend that users keep their WireGuard configuration secure and not share it with unauthorized individuals.

The configuration file contains login credentials that can be used to access the respective VPN connection.

6. No logging of website content or search queries

Talos Family is not designed to monitor the content of your internet usage.

In particular, we do not log:

  • the content of websites visited
  • search queries entered
  • private messages
  • Content of HTTPS Connections

However, technically necessary operational and connection information may be processed for the purpose of providing, securing, and troubleshooting the service, to the extent necessary to ensure secure and reliable operation.

12. Network Architecture

Talos Family Network Architecture: Endpoint connects to the Talos Virtual Router via an encrypted WireGuard tunnel, then accesses the Internet via DNS and security filters

Talos Family uses a centrally managed network architecture.

Depending on the service subscribed to and the configuration, the end device connects to the Talos infrastructure or a Talos Virtual Router via an encrypted WireGuard tunnel.

DNS-based security and filtering rules can be applied there.

The basic procedure is as follows:

Endpoint → encrypted WireGuard tunnel → Talos Virtual Router → DNS/security filter → Internet

Filtering can be used, for example, to block connections to categories that are known or that the user has blocked, including:

  • Phishing and Scam Websites
  • Known malicious domains
  • adult content
  • Gambling and Betting Options
  • certain social media services
  • certain gaming services
  • Known advertising and tracking domains

The specific filtering depends on the product purchased and the protection rules that are currently enabled.

Important Note

No technical security solution can guarantee complete protection against all online threats.

New phishing sites, malicious domains, and other threats can emerge before they are detected by security systems.

Talos Family therefore provides an additional layer of protection and does not replace general caution when using the Internet or other appropriate security measures.
