When TalosFamily VPN is enabled, your local network or your Internet service provider can usually detect:

  • that a VPN connection is being used
  • the VPN server's network address
  • Time and Duration of the Connection
  • the amount of data transferred

However, they usually can't tell right away:

  • the content of HTTPS websites
  • Passwords transmitted via HTTPS
  • Form data protected by HTTPS
  • Full URLs transmitted within the VPN tunnel
  • Direct destination IP addresses of the connections established through the VPN tunnel

The VPN tunnel prevents the local network from directly monitoring normal Internet traffic once it has entered the encrypted tunnel.
